Open Door: Bio

Open Door is a Christian rock band featuring original songs and dynamic worship music. The band performs at music festivals, such as “AtlantaFest” and “Celebrate Freedom Atlanta,” community events, and churches. A main part of the band’s mission is its prison ministry, conducting concerts in maximum security state prisons. The fruit of its ministry is evidenced by the hundreds of prisoners led to Christ and the thousands who find new hope through the gift of music, even while incarcerated. The band's name Open Door comes from Jesus' statement, “I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved" (John 10:9).

The original songs of David Cooper, lead guitarist and singer, play a major role in the band’s repertoire. His thought-provoking lyrics set his music apart in Christian music today. David is best known as the Senior Pastor of the 10,000-member Mount Paran Church in Atlanta. He is the author of over ten books, and his preaching is heard globally via media outreach. Mike Parker, lead singer and guitarist, is a gifted worship leader and song writer. Mike is a powerful singer whose voice inspires listeners to worship the Lord in spirit and in truth. Tim Cooper on bass and keyboards, and Steve Bennett on drums complete the band; both are seasoned professionals in the field of music.
